WINNER’s Song Min Ho, who is currently serving his alternative military service, has been absent from his workplace following misconduct allegations.
According to a Star News report on December 18, Min Ho did not show up for duty at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility in Seoul, where he has been assigned for alternative service. He started his service at the Mapo Facility Management Corporation in March of the previous year, then transferred to the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility in March this year.
It was confirmed that Min Ho took a sick day on December 18 due to personal reasons. He has been diagnosed with panic disorder and bipolar disorder and is undergoing treatment.
When contacted by Star News, a representative from the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility declined to comment, saying that the person in charge was under investigation because of the allegations against Min Ho.
Min Ho is set to be discharged from his alternative service on December 23. However, allegations of misconduct emerged on December 17, just days before his discharge. Dispatch reported that Min Ho traveled to Hawaii for five days in October and failed to report for duty after returning.
The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) is now investigating the situation, facing criticism for its delayed response.
YG Entertainment, Min Ho’s agency, issued a statement defending him. They explained that his sick days were due to ongoing treatments prior to his service, and all other leaves were taken according to regulations. The agency stressed that there was no issue, as Min Ho had not violated any rules despite the attendance controversies and allegations of falsified records.
