“Omniscient Reader” tells the story of an ordinary office worker who embarks on a journey to save the world when the earth begins to perish according to the contents of an unknown web novel (Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse) he has read for 10 years.
Actor Lee Min-ho plays the role of the novel’s protagonist ‘Yoo Jung Hyuk’, and actor Ahn Hyo-seop, who makes his screen debut, appears as ‘Kim Dok-ja’, the only one who knows the ending of the novel.
Actor Chae Soo-bin plays the role of ‘Yoo Sang-ah’, Kim Dok-ja’s former colleague and the one who starts the end of the world with him.
Actor Shin Seung-ho plays the role of ‘Lee Hyun Sung’, a military with strong defensive power, and Nana plays the role of ‘Jung Hee-won’, who acts like a goddess of justice. Jisoo (BLACKPINK) plays the role of ‘Lee Ji-hye’, a colleague who works with Yoo Jung-hyeok to overcome crises.
“Omniscient Reader” is the first film to be presented by “Smilegate Realize”, a joint venture between Smilegate and film production company Realize Pictures.
Smilegate has actively participated in the planning and production of the film from the early stages, including securing the copyright of the original web novel, developing the screenplay, and casting.
