Director Lee Jung-heum Praises Namkoong Min & Jeon Yeo-been Ahead of SBS Drama Our Movie
SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Our Movie is coming soon—set to premiere on June 13th at 9:50 PM—and the casting story behind Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo-been is already getting a lot of buzz.

The drama follows Lee Je-ha (Namkoong Min), a film director who’s stuck in a life with no tomorrow, and Lee Da-eum (Jeon Yeo-been), an actress who’s living like today is her last. It’s a love story that can’t be pushed off until later.
Director Lee Jung-heum, known for hits like Falsify, Nobody Knows, and Inspector Koo, said what drew him in was how these two characters lean on each other during rough times. “A drama of understanding and comfort… I was curious what kind of ending the two would face,” he shared.
He described Our Movie as a classic melodrama—two people with totally different personalities and views on life meet, grow closer, and slowly fall in love. He said he focused the direction so viewers could really feel what the characters feel and understand them naturally, without being told how to feel.
Talking about Namkoong Min’s role as Lee Je-ha, Director Lee pointed out that the actor’s own personality is quite different from the character’s. But that contrast made for a deeper performance. He added, “Extremely detailed acting,” praising how Min portrayed Je-ha, a man who rarely shows his emotions, with real charm.
As for Jeon Yeo-been, he said her “healthy energy” was key to playing Lee Da-eum. He praised her for handling the character’s pain and sadness with care, saying that gave Da-eum both warmth and a strong will to live.
With all that love poured into the characters, the actors, and the production, Our Movie is shaping up to be a drama worth watching when it airs this June 13th.
