Mnet Responds to Accusations Against ‘BOYS II PLANET’ Contestant Kim Geonwoo

Mnet’s audition survival show “BOYS II PLANET” is facing backlash after a social media post accused contestant Kim Geonwoo Woo of past bullying.

The show addressed the growing controversy, saying, “We recognize the seriousness of this matter and are currently verifying the facts of the allegations raised through social media.”

The accusations claim Kim Geonwoo, back when he was a trainee at B Entertainment, was nicknamed “king” and bullied fellow trainees. The anonymous poster said Kim verbally abused others during group dance sessions, forced them to repeat steps, and didn’t let them use the air conditioning. According to the post, he also summoned trainees if they didn’t greet him first but ignored them if they did.

The poster added, “I am exposing the true nature and character of trainee Kim Geonwoo, known as the center of K-Planet in ‘BOYS II PLANET.’”

They even claimed multiple trainees ended up leaving the company and had to pay penalties. Supporting material included a trainee contract, an envelope from B Entertainment, a psychiatric treatment record, and messages with a staff member about Kim’s appearance on the show.

“BOYS II PLANET” further said, “We are ascertaining the exact details not only from the individual mentioned in the post but also from former B Entertainment employees and related individuals. Separately, we are also meticulously reviewing whether there are any potential legal issues.”

As the post spread online and controversy grew, the program kicked off a fact-checking process.

“BOYS II PLANET” is a sequel to “Boys Planet”, the show that formed the group ZEROBASEONE. The current season is airing both as a Korean version (“BOYS II PLANET K”) and a Chinese version (“BOYS II PLANET C”).
