TVING original series ‘Dear X’ is proving its power in global streaming. Now in its second week, the drama keeps gaining momentum as interest in the protagonist Baek A-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung) intensifies.
According to TVING, the series has recorded the highest number of paid subscribers for two straight weeks (weekend tally). And globally, it’s seeing remarkable success. Data from global OTT ranking platform FlixPatrol shows that ‘Dear X’ ranked No. 1 for two consecutive weeks in the HBO Max TV Show category across seven Asia-Pacific markets — including Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Taiwan. The series also secured the No. 1 ranking on Viki in the U.S. and Canada, while on Disney+ in Japan it peaked at No. 3, demonstrating expansive international interest.
Escalating Conflict and New Threats
Episodes 5 and 6, released on the 13th, shifted the tension sharply. After Baek A-jin’s acting debut (and her fast rise to stardom), Re Na (Lee Yeol-eum) revealed hostility, driven by jealousy. Re Na disclosed information related to the “Shackle File” held by CEO Seo Mi-ri (Kim Ji-young) and even managed to take possession of it herself, hoping to seize control.
But Baek A-jin countered ruthlessly. At the Long Star Entertainment founding anniversary event, she released a video exposing Re Na’s actions and delivered a direct warning — and honestly, it hit hard.
At the same time, another dangerous figure reentered the picture. Park Dae-ho (Shin Mun-sung), the detective responsible for investigating the death of Baek Seon-gyu (Bae Soo-bin), appeared again, driven by revenge, threatening to expose Baek A-jin’s past and destroy her acting future.
Strategic Counter-Move
With the threat escalating, Yoon Jun-seo (Kim Young-dae) and Kim Jae-oh (Kim Do-hoon) did everything they could to stop Park Dae-ho and protect Baek A-jin.
Meanwhile, Baek A-jin took a calculated direction. She planned a strategy to secure Heo In-gang as a completely loyal ally — using him as a step to climb higher. And now, Heo In-gang has fallen into her plan, setting up unpredictable consequences.
