MBC’s “Moon River” Written by Jo Seung-hee and Directed by Lee Dong-hyun — First Look at Kim Se-jeong Out Now!
MBC has unveiled the first stills of Kim Se-jeong in her role as Park Dal-yi, sparking strong interest from viewers. The new Friday-Saturday drama Moon River (The Moon Flows over the River) is scheduled to premiere on October 31st at 9:50 PM.
The series is described as a romantic fantasy historical drama. It centers on the souls of a crown prince who has lost his laughter and a peddler who has lost her memory—swapping places in an unexpected turn. The project is penned by Jo Seung-hee, directed by Lee Dong-hyun, and produced by Kwon Sung-chang in collaboration with High Zium Studio.
In the story, Park Dal-yi is introduced as a peddler with sharp business sense and a knack for persuasion. With her natural charm, Chungcheong-do dialect, and quick wit, she draws customers in with playful teasing. But behind that cheerful exterior, the character hides a missing past. Despite the loss of certain memories, she survives through adaptability, becoming a skilled Pack Merchant on the road.

The released photos highlight her lively side. Carrying a large bundle almost bigger than herself, she flashes a mischievous smile that captures attention. Viewers can also see her versatility—sometimes appearing in feminine attire to gain trust while selling, other times transforming with a fake beard and glasses to disguise as a man.
This drama holds added weight for Kim Se-jeong since it marks her first historical drama role since debut. Known widely as the “Rom-Com Goddess,” she has built her reputation on expressive acting and bright energy. Fans are now curious about how she’ll embody the witty yet mysterious Park Dal-yi.
“Moon River” will unfold her performance as the legendary peddler beginning Friday, October 31st, at 9:50 PM on MBC.
