The tvN drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty wrapped up on the 28th with Im Yoon-ah (Yeon Ji-yeong) and Lee Chae-min (Yi Heon) facing a tense turning point. The episode followed Yi Heon’s exile after being dethroned and blamed for crimes he didn’t commit.
Early in the episode, Yeon Ji-yeong found her way to Yi Heon with the help of Gong Gil (Lee Ju-an). She told him, “Don’t worry. Just wait a little,” promising she would come to his rescue. Yi Heon, however, asked her to leave, holding her hand and warning of the danger. But Yeon Ji-yeong forced a smile, playfully raising her hand like a gun and saying “Bang!”

As Yi Heon was dragged out of the cart by soldiers in a remote area, his life was nearly lost. It was his loyal subordinate who intervened at the last moment, giving him a chance to escape. After changing into new clothes, Yi Heon declared, “Since my first prediction was right, the second one will be, too. Just wait and see, my uncle will surely come to confirm my corpse. Killing my uncle then will be the last thing I can do for Jin Myeong as the deposed king.”
Later, his words proved true. Prince Je San (Choi Gwi-hwa) soon appeared, mocking Yi Heon’s small force. The tide shifted quickly when Yeon Ji-yeong returned—this time with Gong Gil’s troupe members at her side. Reinforcements from the royal kitchen also joined the fight, surrounding Prince Je San and his men.
At a critical moment, Je San tried to take Yeon Ji-yeong hostage, but in the counterattack she was stabbed. Collapsing, she confessed, “Actually, I didn’t want to leave.” Yi Heon wept while holding her, asking, “Where are you going?” before she disappeared into a glowing light together with the Mangunrok.
The story then shifted back to modern-day Seoul. Yeon Ji Yeong woke up, realizing it hadn’t been a dream. A mark on her shoulder proved her tie to Yi Heon. She later worked as the executive chef at a hotel restaurant, preparing for a Michelin inspection. The kitchen team strangely mirrored the royal chefs of the past, while a stern inspector—looking exactly like Im Song-jae (Oh Eui Shik)—evaluated her cooking.
At this moment,Yi Heon reappeared. “I came to keep my promise,” he told her, sealing the reunion with a kiss. In the epilogue, both characters shared bibimbap made by Yi Heon, blending both the historical fantasy and modern romance in a satisfying close.
The historical-romance fantasy tvN drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty ended on a note combining time-slip romance, palace intrigue, and modern-day closure. The finale drew interest not only for its conclusion but also for the chemistry between Im Yoon-ah and Lee Chae-min.
