Actress Hwang Bo-ra recently revealed a realistic struggle over purchasing a Bentley priced in the mid–400 million won range — a decision that briefly seemed close to confirmation but was later postponed.
In a video released on the 18th on her personal channel, under the theme “Mercedes-Benz vs. Bentley Viewed by a Mom Without a Car,” Hwang conducted a hands-on comparison of imported cars. Wearing a blonde wig and a black dress — recreating the concept of a viral overseas Bentley ASMR model — she said she’d been exploring multiple brands and added, “My husband emphasizes the advantages of electric cars and is recommending Volvo for safety reasons.”

But stressing independence in her choice, she said, “You have to choose what you want yourself to avoid regrets,” and headed into a Bentley showroom. Sitting in the driver’s seat, she expressed strong admiration, though surprise hit immediately when staff explained the pricing. Shocked, she asked, “Is there a celebrity discount?” and the representative replied, “There are no separate discounts.”
After visiting a Mercedes-Benz location as well, Hwang concluded that the Bentley appealed to her more. Then — almost impulsively — she tested her husband Kim Young-hoon’s reaction by sending a message: “The Bentley down payment is 30 million won, and the deposit disappears if I don’t take over the car. I’m going to sign the contract.”
His response arrived quickly: “You’re on a roll,” followed by “You handle it.”
Seeing that short reply, Hwang commented, “That’s scary. I think he’s angry,” and she chose to postpone the purchase.
Wrapping up the video, she added, “If the content performs better around next March, I will think about it again,” leaving the decision temporarily suspended — and keeping curiosity alive among viewers searching for updates on luxury car purchases by celebrities.
