Netflix’s hit fantasy rom-com “Genie, Make a Wish” starring Kim Woo-bin and Bae Suzy has maintained its reign as the most talked-about drama for the second consecutive week.
According to Good Data Corporation’s FunDex report for October 6–12, the series ranked No. 1 in the TV-OTT DRAMA BuzzWorthiness category. It first took the top spot in the first week of October and has continued to dominate since then, proving its steady public interest and growing online presence.
The drama — which was released on October 3 — follows Genie (Kim Woo-bin), a lamp spirit who wakes up after a thousand years, and Ki Ga-yeong (Bae Suzy), an emotionally detached human who gets tangled in a story of three wishes. The show’s stress-free, lighthearted fantasy tone has been well-received. And yes, Song Hye-kyo’s special appearance added even more attention from viewers.
Meanwhile, both Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-bin continued their dominance in individual buzz rankings. They placed 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the TV-OTT drama actors category — for the second week in a row.
Trailing behind “Genie, Make a Wish,” the JTBC weekend drama “A Hundred Memories” came in 2nd, followed by tvN’s “Typhoon Family” in 3rd place, Disney+’s “The Murky Stream” in 4th, and SBS’s “Would You Marry Me?” in 5th.
Interestingly, “Typhoon Family”, which only premiered on October 11, debuted directly at No. 3, showing impressive traction in its very first week. The drama stars Lee Jun-ho as Kang Tae-pung, a rookie Typhoon boss who becomes the head of a trading company during the 1997 IMF crisis — with no employees, no money, and nothing to sell.
Even before its release, the show had drawn attention due to Lee Jun-ho’s casting, which created considerable anticipation. His buzz translated well into the cast ranking too — he landed in 5th place in the Cast Buzz category, right behind Bae Suzy, Kim Woo-bin, Kim Da-mi, and Shin Ye-eun.
Both “Genie, Make a Wish” and “Typhoon Family” are currently dominating discussions across TV and OTT platforms, highlighting how audiences continue to gravitate toward both fantasy romance and emotionally driven dramas this October.
