Airing on April 12, 2024, “Dhevaprom: Kwanruetai” is a Thai drama serving as a prequel to “Dhevaprom: Laorchan,” which premiered on March 8, 2024. The series delves into the next generation of the Juthathep family’s love story. Produced by Feel Good Entertainment under the direction of Au Tanakorn Posayanon, the drama boasts the on-screen chemistry between newcomer Mike Panithan Platte portraying “Chat” Chatklao Juthathep and veteran actress Yada Narilya Gulmongkolpech as Kwanruetai.
Adding depth to the cast are four additional male leads: Gulf Kanawut Traipipattanapong as “Phu” Phuthanet Juthathep, Kongthap Peak as “Petch” Asira Juthathep, Kao Noppakao Dechaphatthanakun as Saruj Juthathep, and Tate Henry Myron as “Jak” Ronnajak Juthathep.
Adapted for television by Eklikhit from the novel by Kao Taem, “Kwanruetai” follows Chatklao Juthathep, a young military doctor stationed in Chiang Rai. There, he encounters Kwanruetai, a local known for her strong personality. Their initial interactions are filled with bickering, but fate throws them together when they must collaborate to dismantle the biggest drug production facility in the area. As they face danger side-by-side, their hearts begin to connect, unbeknownst to them. However, a deep-seated family feud and Kwanruetai’s heritage, linked to the Brahma gods, lead her to flee.
This past animosity creates a roadblock in their relationship, and only true love can guide Kwanruetai to follow her heart.
Expressing his excitement, rookie actor Mike Panithan Platte shares, “In this drama, I portray Chatklao. He’s calm and thoughtful, but his upbringing by the hardworking Jab Penpetch Benyakul also instilled a humorous side in him. (laughs) So, I embody two aspects – the doctor from my father and the soldier from my uncle. Chatklao prioritizes the greater good over personal gain. Romance isn’t initially a focus for him until he meets Kwanruetai. Set entirely in Chiang Rai, the drama offers a heartwarming rural ambiance with a love story blossoming between two bickering characters who must work together to take down a drug operation.
