Danielle Speaks Out on ADOR Contract Termination — “This Is Not the End, It Is Just the Beginning”
NewJeans’ Danielle has spoken publicly for the first time since receiving a unilateral contract termination notice from ADOR, telling fans, “This is not the end, it is just the beginning.”
The message was delivered during a live broadcast on her personal social media channel at 7:00 PM on the 12th. The stream ran for about 9 minutes. It marked Danielle (Mo Ji-hye)’s first solo broadcast since the legal dispute began.
At the close of the broadcast, Danielle left fans with a firm message about her future: “Now it starts.” She also addressed her fellow members, saying, “NewJeans is always in a corner of my heart.” She added a final wish to fans, hoping that “every single day be soft, healthy, and full of light.”
Throughout the live, she showed visible emotion, pausing at times as she expressed gratitude toward fans. Speaking in both Korean and English, she said, “To simply say you ‘waited’ is not enough,” and added, “Bunnies [the fan base] were right there in that spot.” Her voice trembled as she thanked those who, in her words, had protected her for a long time.
Reflecting on her hiatus, she spoke cautiously, calling it “a time where I had to protect a lot.” She explained, “Passing through that time, my mind became much calmer.” Recalling past performances, she said, “I recalled the moments of making eye contact with fans on stage. The quiet silence just before the music starts was the strength that allowed me to endure.”
She also mentioned a letter written to fans, saying, “I hope to be able to deliver that letter personally someday.” Emphasizing her commitment, she added, “Even during the time of waiting, my heart toward the fans has not changed.”
On the legal situation, Danielle avoided specifics but acknowledged ongoing developments. “There is a process currently being organized,” she said, adding, “When the time comes, I will let you know the progress directly.”
The broadcast comes after ADOR notified Danielle late last month of a contract termination and filed a lawsuit seeking damages and penalties reportedly amounting to tens of billions of won. In response, her side has challenged the termination as unfair and has taken legal action.
As NewJeans contract dispute, Danielle lawsuit, and ADOR termination notice continue to draw attention, the artist’s first direct message to fans signals a new phase. And, as she stated herself, “This is not the end, it is just the beginning.”
