Big Hit Music, the agency of BTS member Jimin, has issued a rare statement regarding his private life following years of speculation involving actress Song Da-eun.
On July 31, the company said, “We have not disclosed our position until now out of respect for Jimin’s private life and the other party involved. However, due to the various speculative reports and rampant false rumors surrounding the artist’s private life, we are inevitably providing a statement regarding the minimum facts.”
The agency acknowledged that Jimin and Song Da-eun were in a relationship with “mutual affection” in the past but stressed that this was “several years ago” and that they are not currently dating. Big Hit added, “We kindly ask you to refrain from reckless speculation about his private life. We also earnestly request that you avoid any actions that could harm the other party being mentioned alongside the artist.”

Meanwhile, fresh claims have been circulating online. On July 28, an overseas fan posted a video on social media, saying, “Song Da-eun had a three-hour live broadcast on SNS yesterday (the 27th).” In the footage, Song Da-eun appeared smiling and chatting with a man, adding heart emojis. Her hairstyle in the video closely matched a recent selfie from her account, raising suspicion that the video was recent.
She previously fueled speculation after sharing a video from what appeared to be a home date with Jimin. The clip showed him stepping out of an elevator and saying, “Oh, you startled me. Did you know I was coming? I came without saying anything on purpose.” The elevator’s interior revealed the label Nine One Hannam, the luxury residence where Jimin lives, sparking widespread discussion among K-pop fans.
Since the initial dating rumors surfaced in June 2022, Song Da-eun has drawn attention with posts hinting at a relationship. These included photos showing parts of a man’s body assumed to be Jimin’s, as well as an earphone case engraved with the names “Da-eun” and “Jimin.” Such posts triggered strong backlash from fans.

In May last year, Song Da-eun revealed she would pursue legal action against malicious comments, posting a screenshot of an online attack. The following month, she warned, “It’s not my place to be sworn at just because the idol you like loves me. You don’t know what I’ll do when I’m really upset.”
With Big Hit Music now clarifying the situation, attention is focused on whether both sides will finally put an end to speculation surrounding the rumors.
Currently, Jimin is in the United States preparing for BTS’s upcoming comeback album.
