Actor Ahn Jae-hyun successfully brought smiles to viewers on the Friday night episode of Heart on Wheels, which aired on KBS 2TV at 10 PM on the 23rd. His laid-back charm, bouncing between cute clumsiness and sweet thoughtfulness, totally stole the show.
One of the standout moments was his mukbang scene. He really got everyone’s appetite going while digging into spicy flatfish and crab stew. Super excited about the crab roe, he also recommended mixing fried sand eels with green onion kimchi—his unfiltered eating style just lifted the whole vibe. Looking at the sand eels, he casually said it was “food that makes you think of a drink,” hinting at his love for alcohol. He even suggested a toast with the cast, making things all warm and fun.
He didn’t hold back on the compliments either. Talking to Lee Min-jung, who cooked the fried sand eels, he said, “How did you so easily come up with this recipe? It’s perfect!” And when it came to Kim Jung-hyun, who doesn’t drink, Ahn sweetly brought him some sparkling water, making viewers go all soft with “mom smiles.”
And of course, his clumsy side showed up too. He’d already broken a screened door before, and his awkward attempt to fix it was hilarious. When Kim Jung-hyun finally got it working, Ahn just clapped next to him, cracking everyone up.
Later on, he and Kim Jae-won woke up early to go pot fishing out at sea. After their hard work, they shared a meal of freshly caught octopus—thanks to the generous captain. While cleaning the octopus back at the place, Ahn noticed Kim Jae-won’s trembling hands and reassured him, “It’s okay, don’t be anxious,” while holding his hand. He smoothly cleaned the octopus himself, showing his reliable, older-brother side.
He also had a mission to help out the locals in Hyoja-do and prep a meal for 100 villagers. With his voice shaking a bit, he said, “It’s nothing,” showing how determined he was to get it done.
By the end, Ahn totally won over the elderly folks on the island with his friendly and easygoing nature. After serving food and saying goodbye, one resident apologized for not recognizing him at first. But Ahn just held their hand and said, “Why are you sorry? Let’s meet again,” leaving a warm impression.
With Ahn Jae-hyun being so down-to-earth and getting along so well with both the cast and the locals, fans are seriously hyped for the next episode.
