The OST Part.2 ‘Insane’ for the drama ‘Dear X’ — sung by Elaine — was released on the 13th, available now on various streaming platforms. The track builds a mysterious mood step-by-step, and it’s described as a cinematic pop song with dreamy vocals layered over tense MIDI sounds.

— Actually, the song captures Baek A-jin’s internal cracks, anxiety, and desires. It expresses the drama’s multi-layered emotional structure and completes the dark psychological line of the storyline. Elaine’s unique emotional tone and cinematic sound combine, and they vividly portray the character’s unstable psychology.
The drama ‘Dear X’ follows Baek A-jin (Kim Yoo-jung) — a woman wearing a mask to rise to the top and escape hell — and tells the story of the Xs, people who were crushed by her.
Elaine, who released her full-length album ‘3’ in October, has worked on multiple OSTs including ‘Mr. Sunshine’, ‘Under the Queen’s Umbrella’, ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’, and ‘Discovery of Love’. Her exotic voice and subtle emotional expression have consistently boosted immersion in every project. And honestly, yeah, this time too, she completed the mysterious tone of ‘Dear X’ solidly.
The OST production team includes music director Gaemi, known for ‘Once Upon a Small Town’, ‘When the Camellia Blooms’, ‘Sweet Home’, ‘Welcome to Samdal-ri’, and ‘The World of the Married’. Writer Su-kyeong, who worked on ‘Law and the City’ and ‘Good Partner’, also joined, raising the overall quality of the soundtrack.
