Actor Lee Yi-kyung (36) has become the center of controversy after a rumor-filled post started circulating online — one that’s now raising questions due to conflicting claims from the original poster.

On October 20, a foreign netizen uploaded a blog post titled “Exposing the Real Side of Lee Yi-kyung” on a local portal site. The post included screenshots of what they claimed were mobile messenger conversations with the actor, along with several personal remarks. It quickly spread across online communities and social media platforms, gaining traction overnight.

Soon after, Sangyoung ENT, Lee Yi-kyung’s agency, responded firmly. “Regarding the issues being posted and circulated across online communities and social media, we are preparing legal action against the damages caused by the dissemination of false information and malicious rumors,” the agency stated.

They further emphasized the seriousness of the situation, saying, “We plan to take all necessary measures, including calculating the extent of direct and indirect damages resulting from the circulation of false information,” and warned, “Please note that not only the initial creation but also the indiscriminate posting and spreading of such content are subject to legal action. We urge caution to prevent unnecessary harm.”

Interestingly, the netizen who made the original claims later posted an update. “Seeing the reactions, the topic of me asking for money came up. I was startled because this was the first I’d heard of it. I did ask ‘Can you give me money?’ once,” they wrote. The statement itself contradicted their earlier denial — first claiming no mention of money, then admitting to having asked.

In a follow-up comment, the same person added, “People said I posted the article because of money. I’m saying that’s not true. I did ask once about a year ago, but I haven’t done it since.”

The individual, who described themselves as a German national, said they were struggling with communication barriers. “I posted this so that other women won’t suffer because [Lee Yi-kyung] said such strong things. I am not good at Korean, and I am not a scammer; I am a real German,” they wrote, further noting, “I haven’t been able to properly read everything because I’m working, but I hope there are no misunderstandings, and I wish people wouldn’t touch my private life or anything else. I didn’t know this matter would get this big.”

As the translation issues and contradictory comments continue to fuel speculation, the controversy remains unresolved — leaving both fans and the public watching closely how Lee Yi-kyung and his agency handle what’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about online scandals this week.
