SEOUL, Oct. 4 — Ro Woon and Shin Ye-eun, the lead actors of the Disney+ original series ‘The Murky Stream’ (Korean title: 탁류), appeared together at the Yevit outdoor stage along the Han River in Seocho-gu. The event, held on Friday, drew nearly 500 fans, creating a lively atmosphere as the cast thanked viewers for their support and teased what’s next in the series.
The two leads—joined by Park Seo-ham, Park Ji-hwan, Park Jung-pyo, Ahn Seung-gyun, Kim Cheol-yoon, and Yoon Dae-yeol—spent time interacting with citizens, reviewing key broadcast moments, and encouraging continued attention as the story enters its second half.
Ro Woon shared his thoughts, saying, “If what we’ve seen so far was the prelude to the conflict, a story you won’t be able to take your eyes off will follow from now on.” His co-star Shin Ye-eun echoed that excitement, adding that “A more exciting story will unfold, so please look forward to it.”

About The Murky Stream
Now streaming on Disney+ since September 26, The Murky Stream is a historical drama depicting the fierce struggles over the rights and interests of the Gyeonggang, the main hub where Joseon’s goods and money converge. The series marks a collaboration between writer Chun Sung-il (behind The Slave Hunters and The Pirates) and director Choo Chang-min, known for the film Masquerade.
Ro Woon plays Jang Si-yool, a man living as a hooligan while hiding a dark past. Shin Ye-eun stars as Choi Eun, the powerful merchant leader of Joseon’s top commercial guild. Park Seo-ham takes on the role of Jung Cheon, an idealist striving to become an upright official, while Park Ji-hwan portrays Mu Deok, who pulls Jang Si-yool into his faction.
Story So Far
With nine episodes in total, the drama reached its halfway point following the release of episodes 4 and 5 on October 3. In these episodes, Deok-gae (played by Choi Young-woo) exited after a violent confrontation with Jang Si-yool, while Mu Deok (Park Ji-hwan) rose as the new leader of the Mapo-naru gang.
Jang Si-yool later became Mu Deok’s right-hand man, seeking to build a new order in Mapo-naru. Meanwhile, Jung Cheon (Park Seo-ham) discovered that Lee Dol-gae (Choi Gwi-hwa) was the real force behind the corruption, setting off a chain of betrayals and imprisonment.
Looking Ahead
As anticipation grows for the final four episodes, the cast assured fans that the second half will deliver stronger tension and faster developments. “Please keep showing love for the series—things are about to get more intense,” Park Ji-hwan and Park Seo-ham noted during the event.
The Murky Stream continues to stream exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes premiering every week. Episodes 6 and 7 will be released on Friday, October 10.
