Actress Suzy has opened up about how she personally handles rude or irritable people in the entertainment industry.
She recently appeared on the YouTube program Jo Hyun-ah’s Thursday Night (September 23), in an episode titled “Newbie YouTuber Who Met Super Celeb Part.1.” During the talk, fellow guest Jo Hyun-ah praised Suzy, saying, “I am truly so grateful. Suzy is the guardian of my confidence and self-esteem.”
Jo Hyun-ah went on to explain, “Whenever I tell her someone said something mean, Suzy always says, ‘Unnie! That person is weird! Why would they say that?’ I often come back feeling hurt from somewhere, but Suzy is always so warm and comforting.”

Suzy responded directly: “They are right to be called weird. That’s the truth.” When asked if she’s experienced the same, the actress added, “The thought I have most often these days is, ‘because they are human.’ (Even if they are being weird), I often think, ‘they can be like that because they are human.’”
She explained further that when someone acts irritated or unkind, she tries to reframe it. “If someone is acting irritable, you might think, ‘Why are they like that?’ but if you think about it again, you realize, ‘Since they are human too, something must have happened to them.’ That’s how I tend to think,” she said. Suzy also admitted her personality doesn’t lean toward anger, “so there isn’t much to get angry about.”
The actress also highlighted the importance of kindness, telling Jo Hyun-ah, “I always feel that you are warm. Ultimately, I believe warm people have power. People’s hearts can’t help but be drawn to warm individuals.”
Meanwhile, Suzy is set to return to the screen with Netflix’s upcoming original series “Genie, Make a Wish,” premiering worldwide on October 3. The fantasy romantic comedy—written by Kim Eun-sook—centers on a thousand-year-old genie who meets a human lacking emotions. The project also reunites Suzy with actor Kim Woo-bin, raising anticipation as one of Netflix’s major releases for the second half of the year.
