TV Chosun delays “Confidence Queen” broadcast — new 10:30 PM slot after low drama ratings!
TV Chosun has confirmed a major change to its weekend drama lineup. On September 15, the broadcaster announced via its official social media channels that “Confidence Queen” will now air at 10:30 PM, moving from its previous 9:10 PM slot — a delay of one hour and twenty minutes.

The decision comes amid declining audience numbers. Since its premiere on September 6, “Confidence Queen” has struggled to build momentum. Nielsen Korea data (nationwide paid households) shows the series opened at 1.1%, rose slightly to 1.5% with its second episode, but then slipped to 1.0% in episode three and hit 0.9% by the fourth broadcast.
Competition may be the biggest factor. The drama has been airing directly against tvN’s “Tyrant’s Chef,” which launched with a strong 4.9% rating and quickly accelerated. By episode four it had already entered double digits, and by episode eight, it reached a peak of 15.4%. Industry watchers suggest it could even target the 20% mark, given its current trajectory.
“Confidence Queen” follows three skilled con artists who use unusual tricks to scam people blinded by greed. It also marks Park Min-young’s first return to Korean television since her successful role in “Marry My Husband.“
While TV Chosun has not given a detailed explanation for the schedule shift, the timing makes it clear — this is a strategic response to persistently weak viewership.
