Shin Ji (41, born Lee Ji-Sun), a member of the mixed-gender group Koyote, is getting married to singer Moon Won (34, born Park Sang-moon) in the first half of next year.
Their agency, JG Star, confirmed the couple quietly prepared for the ceremony and recently did their wedding photoshoot at an undisclosed location.
The two met when Moon Won appeared as a guest on MBC Standard FM’s Singlbungl Show, where Shin Ji was working as a DJ. Their relationship turned romantic late last year, and they recently decided to marry.
After the news broke via Star News, Shin Ji addressed the announcement herself through her personal channel on the 23rd. “Considering our busy schedule starting with the Sydney concert this year, followed by Koyote’s album release and domestic tour, we hastily did the wedding photoshoot in advance,” she said. “We’ll continue to meet beautifully and I’ll do my best to personally share the news of our wedding next year.”
Shin Ji and Moon Won are also releasing a duet called “Salaga doola” on the 26th. The track expresses simple and pure feelings of love with an emotional melody and lyrics. It’s not planned to be performed on music shows.
Concept photos for the new song, released on the 18th, show the couple sitting together in a cafe, styled in matching pink tones and denim outfits. “The concept photos evoke the moment Shin Ji first felt trembling emotions in the past,” said the agency. “Through ‘Salaga doola’ with Moon Won, Shin Ji will sweetly sing about the excitement that has deeply permeated her heart. This, combined with the song’s fantastical atmosphere, as if under a spell, will captivate the public’s hearts.”
Koyote’s Kim Jong-min also recently got married to an entrepreneur 11 years younger than him on April 20. Before his wedding, he commented, “Shin Ji and Bbaekga had the nuance of ‘it must be our turn next’ after seeing me go first.” He added, “I expect good news for Shin Ji and Bbaekga soon after my marriage.”
Moon Won debuted in 2012 and gained attention in 2013 through JTBC’s Hidden Singer during the Yoon Min-soo episode.
Shin Ji debuted in 1998 with Koyote. The group remains active and is known as South Korea’s longest-running mixed-gender group. Outside of group activities, she’s also active in entertainment and radio.
