After Six Years Sullis Brother Speaks Out on Real Movie Allegations

Six Years After Sulli’s Death, Brother Questions Unscripted Scenes in Movie ‘Real’ – Kim Soo-hyun Responds.

Sulli’s (Choi Jin-ri, 1994–2019) older brother’s left a pretty heavy message. On the 18th, Sulli’s second older brother, Mr. Choi Dae Hee, posted on his social media, “It’s no different from six years ago. But I understand the homework you left behind, even if just a little.”

Looks like “6 years ago” is talkin’ about 2019, the year Sulli passed.

Before this, Mr. Choi Dae Hee had already posted a bunch of stuff that seemed like he was calling out actor Kim Soo-hyun. On the 23rd of last month, he mentioned the movie Real (2017) on his Insta, writing, “My life, your life, everyone’s life is real,” and added in a comment, “It’s bleak itself.”

Then on the 27th of the same month, he wrote just one word: “Sadist.” A sadist’s someone who gets sexual pleasure from hurting others.

Sulli’s family put out a statement on the 28th of last month, askin’ for answers from Kim Soo-hyun and director Lee Sa-rang (also known as Lee Ro-be), who directed Real, the movie Sulli was in. They said, “We heard questionable content at Sulli’s funeral in 2019,” and added, “We learned about it through the testimonies of staff and actors. We heard that the bed scene between Sulli and Kim Soo-hyun was not specified in the original script, and we want to hear Kim Soo-hyun’s position on this.”

They also said, “We understand that there was a body double for Sulli’s nude scene during filming, and that the body double was present on set. We want to ask why they didn’t use the double and instead persuaded and coerced Sulli into filming the bed scene and nude scene.”

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, clapped back on the 2nd, sayin’, “The scenario conveyed to Choi Jin-ri and her then-agency also included a bed scene, and the material explaining the Song Yoo-hwa character included a draft of the exposure level.”

They denied all the stuff about Sulli bein’ forced into filming nude scenes as the female lead ‘Song Yoo-hwa.’ They emphasized, “Knowing that bed scenes require great courage from actors, the production team had sufficient pre-production preparations, and Choi Jin-ri was fully aware of the bed scene and proceeded with filming.”

About the claim that Sulli only did the nude scene ‘cause the production team talked her into it even though there was a body double, Gold Medalist said, “There was a ‘standing actor’ who stood in for the actor’s movements during the filming preparation stage, not a body double who replaced the acting.”

Finally, they addressed Sulli’s brother, Mr. Choi Dae Hee, who brought up all the Real-related stuff, sayin’, “It is difficult to accept him bringing up something from six years ago ‘now’ and posting on social media about something that didn’t happen as if it were his own experience. We ask him to stop hurting the people who participated in ‘Real’ with much affection and passion through baseless speculation.”

Sulli started out as a child actor in the 2005 drama Ballad of Seodong. In 2009, she dropped her first album with the group f(x) and kicked off her music career. They had hits like “NU ABO” and “Hot Summer.” She left the group in 2015 and got more into acting, appearing in dramas like Love Needs a Miracle (2005), Oh! My Lady (2010), To the Beautiful You (2012), and movies like The Pirates (2014) and Fashion King (2014).

She was found dead at her home on October 14, 2019, at just 25 years old.
